Taking Back Sunday

  • 19th Jul, 2009 at 10:46 AM
I've got a Taking Back Sunday ticket for the 31st July at Cardiff Uni. I can't go any more because I'll be making my way across France and I don't get back in time.

£15 (face value)

Does anyone want it?

So I'm trying to help a friend who wants to be a famous musician one day, so I'm trying to promote his work.

Here's a link to his page (not on LJ).
So if there's a mistake in posting this, please let me know. Thanks!

I just spent the entire ride home from the movie theatre trying to convince my friend that, yes, the popcorn we just ate came from the vegetable corn. Yes, dear, the one on the cob.
You know you've been spending too much time on the Internet when you start referring to real life as "being offline."

So LJ UK, can you come up with any more? :D Try make some up.

cell-culture

Cell-culture newb, so please indulge me here. I've heard varying answers to these questions:

When you centrifuge, do you dilute the cell suspension to fill the tube all the way to the top?  Are BD Falcon test-tubes considered aerosol safe? What about the little white Eppendorf tubes? What is the appropriate speed for a overnight shaker culture of say E.coli?

Thanks

Lush products

Does anybody want a new and unused BIG bottle of Lush's American Cream conditioner and an unused middle-sized bottle of I Love Juicy shampoo?  For, say, a fiver?  (will also throw in a large bottle each of unused Herbal Essences shampoo & conditioner)...

I can't use them on my baby dreads as it'll be death for them, so they may as well go somewhere they'll get used...

Let me know :)  (not really worth posting them as = costly, so collect/meet for coffee would be good.

Short term accomodations online at London

Hi livejournal_uk, hope I won't spoil this community with an another newbie 'I am moving to London' post.

My questions are under the cut )
Because I'm a muppet I've just booked tickets to take my son to the above event in the bookfestival. Neither of us happen to be in the country that day so it aint gonna work out too well.

Does anyone want to buy them, they were 8 quid for a child and adult ticket? The event is for 8-12 year olds I think. If interested please email latrodectus_bite@hotmail.com as I don't actually use lj anymore.
Hi, me again. This time I'm wondering if I am expected to turn up to a planning hearing at the scottish govt as I sent in a written objection originally. My downstairs neighbour opened a backpaker's hostel without absolutely no planning permission about 2 years ago and has continued to trade despite being refused planning permission by the council. At the time of the original planning permission application I and other neighbours sbmitted lengthy objections.

I've just received a letter telling me that his appeal to the scottish executive is happening shortly and that my written submissions will be considered as evidence and asking me if I want to show up and give evidence in person.

I'd imagine the appeal is a fairly arcane process and that written objections are fine, however am worried in case I am expected to turn up. There's a strong chance that he will lie to the executive and tell them the noise and litter/nuisance problems have gone away, which is not true, but then, the executive are not stupid.

I would imagine that no-one is expecting anyone to show up, but thought I would ask here. Bear in mind that showing up is likely to stress me out really badly for days on end, I don't want to go unless it's necessary. Anyone know what the actual process is?

I love my sister...

...but she's not the brightest.

We were talking about underage drinking and the like. I mentioned something about fake IDs and my sister said, "well if you had an identical twin, couldn't you just use their ID to get into bars?"

The week after she graduated high school, she asked me this: "I know spring, summer, and winter, but what are the other two seasons?"

And finally (for this post) we were watching the news in 2005 and suddenly she exclaimed, "Bush is president? Since when?"

I don't understand how we can share genes.
