Shows what I have seen:
Abnormally Funny People - Five comedians with various disabilities doing stand/sit-up. Really funny, I've never heard a blind guy do observational comedy before! I went to see this on Monday with Gordon, Hayley and Ali. We picked it totally at random from all the flyers at the Pleaseance Dome - go us!
Kevin Tomlinson - Improvised comedy. He used bits of paper with lines written by the audience on them, this worked really well most of the time, especially the totally random ones! Some of his material was brilliant, other bits weren't as good but I think that is a consequence of a solo improv. show. Another show picked totally at random, this time with Action Tom, his friend Ian and Ians' wee sister.
The Amateur Transplants - Again with Action Tom, this time we actually planned to see a show! Duncan introduced us to the Amateur Transplants one night at Glenalmond nad I nearly cried laughing. Very crude and close to the line (in fact they crossed it once or twice in the show) but hilarious! Two doctors singing altered lyrics to popular songs. Sample lyrics - "You're yellow like the desert in Damascus is, you're yellow 'cos' you're liver has metastasis", from a song about cancer. They also have a song called "Paracetamoxyfrusebendroneomycin". We chatted to them afterwards, they are both really nice guys and seemed to appreciate that Tom and I were laughing in anticipation of bits in the songs because we had heard them before. Genius.
Today I went to St. John's to hear Bill Bailey. It was part of the Festival of Spirituality and Peace and he was excellent. I saw Jamieson and we went for a coffee and a chat before the show and afterwards I helped him to dismantle the monster screen from the stage at the front of the church. It was nice to see him and have a good chat about stuff.
Hopefully I will get to see a few more things before the Fringe is over, but I think I might have to wait for payday!
