So, the G8. The logic of holding it in Gleneagles still escapes me but never mind.
The MPH march last Saturday was AMAZING.

On Monday the anarchists arrived.
All I saw from my window at work all day were police cars, riot police in vans, police horses, police dogs, armoured vehicles, police motorbikes and helicopters (they may have had police in them I think...). Yet despite the fact we were only 300 yards from the protests we never saw a single anarchist. I think the police did really well and kept it contained without resorting to rubber bullets, water cannons and the like. I may be in a minority but I think they policed the entire event pretty well!
Wednesday was Live8 which kicked some considerable ass. Even if I did have to sit through McFly and Ronan Keating, practically everyone else was ace. More here, mainly because I can't be bothered reviewing it!

Will update properly with weekend funness when I have recovered. Still very tired from all the walking. It is sufficient for now to say I saw many funny things and did much cool stuff but consequently am knackered!

tired
Well the rain over the past few days seems to have cleared my work end of the city of the smell of baking vomit which was prevalent at the beginning of the week.
Tents are starting to appear on the meadows and as I was walking home last night they appeared to be assembling some sort of watchtower.
The radio this morning was saying that shops on Princes St were getting jittery and boarding up. Sure enought THE BODY SHOP(!!!!) had all its windows covered. I ask you, the Body Shop! An anarchist walking along Princes Street looking for trouble is highly unlikely to pick on the Body Shop! Not when there is a McDonalds and other assorted companies to choose from anyway.
I may be wrong, but come on people, a little perspective would be good!
